History of KEYS
The Kosciusko Endowment Youth
Services, a youth philanthropic
organization, began June 9, 1995.
KEYS was started by the Dekko
Foundation with the support of the
Kosciusko County Community
Foundation.
KEYS is one of the 13
youth pods throughout the country
created by Chet Dekko. Kosciusko is
fortunate to receive funding from
the Dekko Foundation because
counties that contain businesses
established by Chet Dekko can
receive funding. Dekko Heating
Technology in North Webster, Indiana
is one such business.
KEYS members are students, an 8th
grader through 12th
grader, from the four school
corporations in Kosciusko County:
Lakeland Christian Academy,
Tippecanoe Valley, Wawasee, and
Warsaw.
The members of KEYS learn
philanthropy through grant making
for educational purposes. Since
1995, KEYS has granted over $150,000
in funding to educational projects
or programs in Kosciusko County. |
